Acupuncture is a regulated medical practice under the British Columbia Ministry of Health. It is covered under many public and private health plans, including ICBC, MSP, WorkSafeBC, and Veterans Affairs Canada.

Acupuncture is also tax deductable expense. Ask us for a statement at the end of the year for your tax return.

MSP will pay $23 up to ten times a year for low income, provincial disability, and Status First Nations residents of BC. As an approved MSP vendor we can direct bill to MSP.

BC residents on provincial disability who use their ten subsidized sessions can apply for up to an additional twelve per calender year. We can help you with that, please ask us for more information if you require assistance or more information.

ICBC has just announced new coverage amounts for any BC residents injured in a motor vehicle accident. The new ICBC Enhanced Care program will cover $107.85 for initial appointments and $90.72 for follow up appointments for acupuncture, as of April 1. Please see their website for more details.

Our ICBC vendor registration is in process and may take several weeks for approval as they are experiencing high wait times. For now the patient is required to pay up front with our clinic and be reimbursed, and we will update this page as that changes.

WorkSafeBC has also announced a new and improved fee schedule this year. WCB will pay up to $70.50 for up to 8 visits within the first 8 weeks following a workplace accident. As an approved vendor with WorkSafe BC we can direct bill.

Veterans Affairs Canada covers Veterans through Medavie Blue Cross for up to $94.50 per acupuncture session. We can direct bill to Medavie.
